Community Service Event Coordinator (unpaid)

Reports To: This role will receive direction and support from Directors in each of our departments (Development & Communications, Circles, or Essential Services) depending on program efforts that require development, design and/or delivery as needed through short-term special projects.

Description: Community Service Event Coordinator acts as the liaison between Friends In Deed and the community organizations by planning, developing and delivering community service events. This role aims to build and sustain relationships within the community, promote the organization’s mission and services, and create opportunities for volunteer engagement and participation.

Responsibilities:

  • Creating and implementing community service events
  • Identifying opportunities for community partnerships and collaborations
  • Organizing and managing community events, workshops, and planning meetings
  • Communicating with the community organizations to understand their community service needs and timing
  • Collaborating with other team members to promote the community service events
  • Working with development and communications teams to promote community service events and initiatives
  • Conducting surveys and feedback sessions to assess the effectiveness of community engagement initiatives

 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

●      Excellent personal and customer serviceskills.

●      Excellent verbal andwritten communication skills.

●      Ability to plan and manage projects.

●      Ability to operate personal computers,copiers, and faxes.

 

EXPECTATIONS:

Consistency and dependability by showing up for allregularly scheduled volunteer shifts. Flexible day-time hours 10:00am – 2:00pm Monday – Thursday.
